NYC welcomed us with a Polar Vortex (aka blizzardy NY weather) but we found warmth, solice and a friendly home at the Langham Place Fifth Avenue (previously known to New Yorkers, especially cab drivers, as the Setai!) The Langham Place Fifth Avenue in NYC is the epitome of style, comfort and 5* service. Catered more to the less price-sensitive individual, it’s a perfect home away from home. I stayed in the more basic room which was cozy and akin to many modern NY hotels. For those who want only the best in the city, the Langham really stands out in the suite category – offering a variety of different suites types, in different sizes and layouts. Some with massive walk-in closets for those with a penchant for shopping and others with a kitchen for those who want a break from eating out. Not only is The Langham Place Fifth Avenue in a great location, right in the heart of Midtown Manhanttan (a block away from Bryant Park), but it also hosts full fitness (3000 sq ft) and spa facilities with a full spa menu catered to those in need of pampering. I managed to find the time to pop by the spa for a much needed facial. Flying and the absence of humidity gave me dry and wrinkly skin. I was recommend by the Spa specialist to try the Thalgo Collagen Smooth and Fill Facial and was able to book a session without much of a wait. The experience from start to finish was 5*, relaxing, friendly and professional. I was first welcomed by the spa receptionist who escorted me into the impressive Aqua Lounge. I’ve been to many spas in 5* hotels in Asia but was pleasantly surprised at what the Lounge offers! A large co-ed space, boasting experiential showers, heated vitality pool, a chill room, a Turkish Style Hammam as well as steam rooms and saunas! As you’d expect, I walked out of the spa with renewed skin and felt rejuvenated! For friends who live in the Big Apple – this is the oasis I was referring to. It’s a great get-away when you can’t get away!
