On my recent trip to Whistler, I stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler located in the North-side of the village. The resort is distinguishable from others at Whistler with is its charm of a classical Canadian chateau – the high ceilings, wooden beams, touches of stone and many fireplaces throughout the hotel lobby .The entrance although grand welcomes you to an otherwise warm and cozy hotel making it an ideal home away from home.
We loved:
– the exquisite breakfast buffet at The Wildflower with a wide selection and detailed labels. For those with dietary needs, they have a Lifestyle menu with plenty of options
– the Mallard Bar with its cozy fireplaces, comprehensive menus, friendly staff and evening music entertainment (not to mention the many flavors of chocolate brittle)
– outdoor and indoor heated pools (4 of them!), full spa services and a gym incase the mountain workout wasn’t enough
– ski-in, ski-out valet services; a relaxed 10 minutes was what it was from the breakfast table to putting on our skis and boots to riding the Wizard Express up Blackcomb
Need to knows:
A stone throw away from the Whistler Blackcomb ski lifts, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler has been an institution in the village since it opened its doors in 1989 shortly after Blackcomb opened its facilities to complement Whistler mountain. Check out their website for some great deals for summer!
